Car battery replacement in Abu Shagara

Abu Shagara lies between Al Wahda Street and King Faisal Street, a few blocks of affordable mid-rise flats around Abu Shagara Park. For years it was Sharjah's used-car quarter. The municipality moved the used-car dealers out to Souq Al Haraj in 2016, yet the motor trade never fully left: car showrooms and workshops still share the streets with groceries, salons and cafeterias. Parking outside the buildings has always been short, and tenants' cars line every kerb.

Stock cars are the classic Abu Shagara battery job. A car waiting for a buyer is started for a minute, moved two metres, shown with the ignition on and the screen lit, then left again, sometimes for weeks. That treatment flattens any battery, and one that has gone fully flat several times will not recover. Someone who has just bought a used car often meets the result a week later: the battery was boosted for the sale and has nothing left to give.

Street parking in Abu Shagara is scarce and paid during Sharjah's charging hours, and many cars end up nose to tail or half on a sandy plot. Before the technician arrives, check that the bonnet can open fully and that there is standing room beside it. Showroom cars are easiest when rolled to the front of the forecourt. Buildings with their own parking usually have a watchman who needs to hear from the tenant.

From Al Taawun the technician runs up Al Ittihad Road and Al Wahda Street, then turns in towards King Faisal Street. The junctions near City Centre Sharjah and the narrow inner streets, where cars are parked on both sides, slow things down.
