Camel Group is based in Hubei province in central China and is one of the country's largest makers of car starter batteries. It builds flooded, EFB and AGM batteries and supplies them to car factories in China for fitment on the assembly line, as well as to the replacement trade. The company also runs its own lead recycling, so material recovered from old batteries goes back into new ones instead of being bought in from outside.

Until recently few drivers in Sharjah had seen the name. That changed as MG, Geely, Jetour, Changan and Omoda filled the car parks under Al Taawun's towers.
